House of Pain and Torture - Buddy Run

After the track workout Tuesday, my shins were very sore. I had an appointment today at SMI so not only did Jason work on my calves - he worked on my beginning shin splints. I thought I was going to die on the table. It felt like he was ripping the muscles off the bone. I was writhing in agony and came very close to tears when he was working on my left leg. Needless to say I will be stretching more, rolling on the white roller more and doing what preventive things I can do to avoid more pain.

The best part of the hour was when it was over.

Tonight's buddy run at Rancho San Antonio was pretty bad for me. I probably shouldn't have run to begin with but I attempted it anyway. The work on my calves took their toll and the fronts of my legs tried to compensate. By the time I got to the farm, I could barely raise my foot. I tried stretching and doing the circle ankle stretch but was having a hard time.

I kept thinking that I would loosen up and kept going down the rogue trail. After 30 minutes, I turned around and ran back. I ran/walked back to the farm and started running from the farm back to the parking lot. I made it back without walking and was never so glad to be able to go home.
